The place “YRA”:

In 2004 I bought the former prayer-house “Tryggheimen” at the banks of the river “Tovdalselva” for a symbolic sum.
The house, first built sometime between 1785 and 1820, had already once changed its assignment from being the main building at a very prosperous farming place approximately 5 miles up the hills. Between 1913 and 1917 it was taken down and rebuild as a prayer-house beside a stable for horses waiting for their owners return when crossing the river at this place.
Right from the beginning my underlying intention grew steadily stronger: to create a space for creative development and individual growth, an atmosphere, where one can step out of the ordinary, take a fresh breath, and: fill up without being reminded of the usual limitations we perceive to be surrounding us.
One of the blessing has been to have very little money available with the effect, that everything had to be done as cheap as possible:
Thus: all materials were used again as long as possible, even though they blocked the way for some of the years. I was able to take good care of what was given to me: all the rocks that surfaced during road/sewage works, windows that had been hidden in the walls over for decades in the old log walls, and much that others did not have use for any longer.
Due to this, “things took time”, often leaving me in the right time and space to find all the optimal solutions available to me.
and: focusing on creating an atmosphere, I did not get exhausted trying to achieve the perfect finish.
This process, which lasted until february 2008, has been very special, a bit like the pregnancy time for the new intention for this house and space: seeds were planted and given a sheltered period to establish their individual “feeding tubes”.
Somehow – and despite no financial resources – the place stepped into being and is now ready to live!
!!Many thanks, love and light to all those that have supported this process: helping “hands”, patient craftsmen, trusting ground owners, those supporting other areas of my life, teachers and friends!!

I would also like to thank Marcela Lobo for introducing me to “despatchos”, prayer-offerings to our Mother Earth, which I gave to the earth before having to open her ancient skin: the force of the blasting never destroyed anything already finished, and animals left the ground in plenty of time.

I also give them as a “Thank you” for what I am allowed to do and get given by nature.
